Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome to our Annual New Year Celebration.
Let me tell you briefly about our “Native Village GO CONG ***ociation.”
30, 40 years ago, we are the villagers of a city named GO CONG in Southern Vietnam. After the Vietnam war in 1975, many of us have left Vietnam to seek a new life in a foreign country. We are scattered all over the world.
After years of hardships, struggles to adapt to the new life in the foreign land, the GO CONG villagers seek out for each other where we found comfort and love when we found one another, and that was how the Native Go Cong ***ociation was found 17 years ago.
Beside the love for our Vietnamese culture, our Go Cong villagers are best known for our love toward each other, toward our city of Go Cong. That is why, does not matter where we live, the Go Cong villagers always try to come and be there for our first important celebration of the new year in our culture.
Tonight in The Washington Metro Area, as you see, our Go Cong villagers come together with their families and friends come to celebrate our new year. And especially this year, we have people traveled from far distance to be here with us, as for as California, M***achusetts, Pennsylvania, and that touch our hearts.
Beside celebrating our new year, another purpose of this get together is for us to have a chance to catch up, share old, new stories, and a chance for us to make new friends, reunite with old friends. And importantly, to remember that we are the GO CONG people.
We would like to thank you for being here with us tonight. We wish you all a very happy new year. May this Golden Big year bring you, your families the best of health, wealth and prosperity! Please enjoy the food, the music and have a good time.
